Behind Us!

This blog serves mainly as a document of our family. A mother and daughter blog about taking whats available in life and making it work. Our family didn't plan on this life but it found us. We are trying to be more natural, more earth wise, slightly "home-steading" and adventuring in homeschooling. We are sharing our discoveries here!

Mother
If I described myself? I'm the mom of this mom and daughter blog. Call me A. I am a mom, a wife, an artist, a graphic designer, a sister, a daughter, and a friend. I am a recovering people pleaser, who is creating happiness in her own life without approval of others. I wont settle for not making some kind of difference in the "world" and not reaching my own goals. The goals to obtain happiness for myself and my family, finding the inspiration to do so through my kids.
We are the parents of H, our oldest daughter who is a smart little lady who is going to take the world by storm. She is kind and compassionate, a passionate artist, and loves learning and to be challenged. Our second is our angel son, C. He taught us all a little more about life. The value of time and living, not just letting life happen to you. Six days on earth he left a huge impact on all who speak his name. Then we have our newest girl, M, who is a breath of fresh air. She has taught us all about choosing your attitude. She explores the world with wonder in her eyes that I wish I could jar up in a bottle and save. These kids are what keep me going, what give me the inspiration to grow as an individual and to keep discovering ways to love life.
We have traversed huge struggles together, but we have also stood on top of the biggest triumphs. We couldn't have ever planned this life, or imagined our story would have taken us to this point. There are many in our lives who shake their heads at us, and don't understand how we have gotten here. We don't either... so we are taking it one day at a time, following our hearts, and trusting the process. The journey looks like we are headed to live frugal, as close to self-sustaining as possible (close to homesteading, if that's what you want to call it), and a calling to school our girls in the home.
H, was welcomed to the world almost ten years ago. She spent the next few years on quite an adventure. She came to live with us full time almost 5 years ago and has brought huge amounts of joy to her father and I. She is daughter of the mother and daughter blog.

Daughter
You can call me H. I love to hike and fish. I really like horror movies. I also like to read and write and I love sports. I love to make art with my Mom. But I really don't like Brussels Sprouts!
I hope to invent a car that doesn't require fuel. I hope to make a difference in the world.

So our journey from there to here, and how it takes shape from here to there will be found on this blog.

We have traveled a long road in this family. The road has not always been great. Though the beautiful parts are worth it all.
